We've just discovered an extraordinary resource for moms. It's called "Neighborhood Moms" and here's how they describe themselves:
"Neighborhood Moms (NMs) is an independent, all-volunteer organization dedicated to creating a community of friendship and support among mothers of infants, toddler and preschool children; increasing options for safe, well-monitored child development and childcare; and facilitating transitions between working and parenting for mothers, children, & families" Their monthly newsletter includes an information exchange for schools, articles on managing your money, problems and solutions, events and activities, career network, support groups, and babysitting connections.
